A YJA Moment - The Anti-Life Equation

From the powers of metahumans to the universe itself seems to draw from a deep well of mysterious energy.  While it's been called many things, it is known to the Guardians of Oa as The Source of All Power, or simply The Source.

Where the Source comes from is a subject of much speculation.  Krona, the renegade Guardian believed it was the unused energy left over from the Big Bang, while the Ancient One, Nabu, believed it was a gift from the Higher Power.

Whatever its origins, the Source itself exists far beyond the realms of existence.  Much like a pebble dropped in a lake, its power radiates in various forms of energy throughout reality, known to the enlightened as emanations.

Each emanation from the Source produced a new form of energy.  One created the godwave, elevating beings to become deities.  Another was the source of magic, the Speed Force, etc.  All drew their energy from the Source, but the Source itself remained unreachable and unknowable, kept behind a wall both physical and metaphysical.

Yet the same incident that created the source also caused a metaphysical rift, in reality, forming a strange power that existed but should-not-exist.  So unnatural was this energy that it could not possess its own unique form, but instead mimicked the emanations of the Source. Thus, the non-Euclidian energy that created the Great Old Ones and Apokalips new gods, the strange darker Magics of Cthon, and the Negative-Speed Force were all sparked into existence.

Where the Source is the beginning of life and existence, the Counter Force hates existence.  It is by its very nature...anti-life.  Where the Source is about creation and vitality, the Counter Force seeks stagnation and apathy.  A universe under Anti-Life would not die but exist in an endless moribund servitude to an unknowable power.

Yet much like the Source, this Anti-Life is also unknowable.  It does seek to be discovered, however, and has left a trail of arcane bread-crumbs for the most fanatical seekers.  This Anti-Life Equation will allow the individual to access the Counter Force and through it allow it to finally snuff out the dynamic Source forever.
